The National Jail Management and Penology Training Institute (NJMPTI) has been through various adversities in its years of existence. In this year’s Founding Anniversary with a theme, “Rebuilding Hopes, Revitalize, and Moving Forward”, NJMPTI centered its celebration on how we rebuild our hopes, revitalize, and move forward after all the struggles that the institute have been through especially when COVID-19 Pandemic afflicted our plans. As part of the weeklong celebration different activities have been lined-up and were done following the minimum health standard.
The NJMPTI kicked off its 29th founding anniversary celebration with a parade, sports fest, and opening ceremony conducted at the NTC Grandstand on July 18, 2022. The activity was participated by the personnel and students of NJMPTI. It started with the Torchj Lighting by JINSP RUSS L CHOKOWEN, Chief Tactics/Tactical Officer followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship led by JCINSP JOY ANNE C PASCUAL, Commandant of Students. Students of Jail Basic Recruit Course (JBRC) CL 2022-03 competed in the cheer dance competitiion, which was the highlight of NJMPTI’s Sports fest.
The NJMPTI Sports fest continued from July 18 – 22, 2022 along with other simultaneous activities such as Poster Making Contest and video making contest dubbed as “Anong Kwentong NJMPTI Mo?”, which were participated by the personnel and students of NJMPTI.
Further, as part of the weeklong celebration and our commitment to promote community responsibility and extension services program, the NJMPTI organized and conducted an outreach program at Don Bosco TVET Calauan, Brgy. Dayap, Calauan, Laguna on July 26, 2022. The beneficiaries of the Community Extension Program are the fifty (50) underprivileged youth who are from relocation areas of urban slum dwellers resettled by the government from the Metro Manila Area. NJMPTI provided basic sets of school supplies and snacks. After the distribution, children participated in a fun-filled games together with the personnel of NJMPTI.
The celebration also includes the Thanksgiving Mass and NJMPTI 4th Gawad Tagapagsanay held on July 27, 2022 at the NJMTPI Social Hall, Camp Vicente Lim, Brgy. Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna with DR. ROMEO S. MAGSALOS, MPSA, Officer-In-Charge, PPSC as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In this year’s 4th Gawad Tagapagsanay, personnel, linkages, and former PPSC employees were recognized for their contributions to the institute.
Indeed, it was a long and glorious years of service with commitment and integrity. The NJMPTI continuously rises above all the adversities. “Rebuilding Hopes, Revitalize, and Moving Forward”.
