Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Management (MCDRM) scholarship program
The Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), one of the Commission on Higher Education's identified specialized higher educational institutions (SHEIs), and under the auspices of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is pleased to introduce to you one of its flagship programs, the Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Management (MCDRM).
The program aims to prepare the next generation of competent crisis and disaster risk managers with a deep understanding of nature and issues surrounding crisis and disaster risk management, and the regional and global necessity of experts. It also aims to strengthen the communities in the country that are geophysical, political, and sociological disaster risks handicapped by way of relevant training, sessions, and courses. Thus, building a critical mass of leaders, scholars, practitioners, and policy advisers who will take the lead in strengthening capacities towards climate change adaptation, effective disaster risk management, and crisis management.
Significantly, the College recognizes the crucial roles of frontline personnel, local government units, and other government agencies in ensuring a safe, adaptive, and resilient nation.
It is delivered through Blended Learning Modality that combines face-to-face interaction and online classes and is being supported by partner institutions such as the University of the Philippines System (UP), Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Climate Change Commission (CCC), and Earthquake Megacities Initiative (EMI). Due to this pandemic, classes are being held online utilizing the Zoom application and Neo-LMS as its academic platform.
